JESUS IS COMING SOON: Helping People to Prepare

Today we had our weekly meeting. We have called this meeting by several names. Before “Bible Fellowship”, we used to say we are having “Pizza and Prophecy.” We made our gathering a place where we emphasized fellowship (sharing a meal together), along with exploring the Word of God for Bible Truth about the Coming of the Lord.

Jesus is surely coming soon. We do not make any claim about knowing the day, hour, or year of His return. Yet we are given discernment of the times we live in (Luke 12:54-56.)

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

The Old and the New Testaments contain valuable passages, some that have been fulfilled, others that yet will occur. Many different aspects of His Coming are given in detail, and often we are able to construct a timeline of events.

For the next few months let’s search again in our Bibles for those prophecies that give Light about our Lord’s return. For every believer in Jesus Christ our Lord, what a day that will be!

One of the valuable things that comes from the study of Bible Prophecy is that we gain many tools to make our Christian witness more effective.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me…” Acts 1:8.

People want to know what is going to happen. Our Bible knowledge will help them to prepare.

The Apostle Paul wrote a great deal of end time prophecy. His Epistles to the Thessalonians shed amazing light on the coming of the Lord. Please be looking ahead, by reading what Paul wrote in these two Letters to an early Christian Church.

Today we looked at what the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy about the “last days.” These days lead up to the return of the Lord Jesus. We discussed what we read in II Timothy Chapter Three.
